Saturday - A day of Sport and the Class Dinner.
Saturday saw a full day of sport vs Wynberg including fishing, surfing and golf, as well as the usual sports – the only slight disappointment was losing the main rugby match by 21 to 22 to a try in injury time. We watched in style from our own “private marquee”.
Our Class of ’62 Reunion Dinner at the Club was a great success (attended by 106). I had made provision for music during the course of the evening (an old juke box with ‘60’s music) but this was hardly used as the hubbub of conversation, stories and raucus laughter never abated. The pinball machine proved to be popular with Maurice Levin claiming he was champion from our schooldays – everyone proceeded to clean him up on the pinball machine!
Late in the evening Charlie Nortje was floating and provided some “live” entertainment via the PA system (some cape coloured musical ditties!!). By midnight the volume of noise had not abated one decibel.
