Thursday - a day packed with activity.
Amazingly everyone arrived on time for the 7.15 golf tee off time at Humewood, which was won by Wally Townsend with Alf Levinthal as runner up.
We had a wonderful lunch in the Rectory Garden – the Rector is a relaxed an entertaining host – imagine “OB” trying to host a lunch. For many it was a first ever visit to the Rectory. Charlie Nortje and Leo Davis caused some havoc with the Rector’s hat stand – no damage done! The PE wind came in from nowhere late in the lunch, but did little to stop the chatter.
Thursday night was the Old Grey Dinner held in a huge marquee at the Club. A total of 470 Old Greys’ attended, an in place of a guest speaker we had the two Heads of the School giving a summary of what was happening at the schools over the past 12 months, and what plans the school had going forward. Another late night.
